I’m Abbie, creativity is my jam. I wanted a space where I could express myself and share with the world myself and my innermost thoughts, so I guess this is it!
Currently living in Scotland, with no job and on health benefits, recovering from years of mental illness and self abuse. Things are really getting back on track for me now.
Being creative has been so healing, I hope I can inspire people to explore it and let go of their expectations. Everyone is so unique and amazing, everyone has something different to offer. And it is both beautiful and freeing when you explore yourself and find out who you really are.
At the moment I spend most of my days in the sun (yay for summer!) soaking up that lovely Vitamin D, spending time going to local community arts groups, drinking and smoking lots of weed with friends and lovers and enjoying my life for the first time in longer than I can remember.
Being in nature soothes me, I am obsessed with rivers in particular (and you will probably notice this in my writing). Something about the flow of life mesmerises me and guides me. Also I have a cute cat.
So I’m gonna share a poem I wrote while hungover this morning. Someone told me it felt like I cast a spell on them and I just went with it in my writing.
There’s many that I’ve written but refrained from sharing for various reasons, so expect them to pop up some day soon too. I’m gonna be fearless here.
I rarely come up with names for poems, I don’t like to give anything away sometimes, and guess it just doesn’t feel right other times so I usually just jump right in….
im a spell
cast on you
when excitement boils
and passion overflows
an enchantment
you can never break
succumb to my sorcery
i’ll show you my way
a love potion
lay with me
but be warned
i might steal your heart
and abandon it in the light of day
Yeah… so that’s that. I might change it, we’ll see. I’ve never been good at editing things, I lack the patience for it and by the time it’s done usually am bored of the poem or piece of writing.
Anyway, not sure what I’ll post next. I enjoy art but am not terribly good at it, writing, taking photographs (but I always lose my phone), writing about my life and experiences. Maybe I’ll even post some music.
